Claude workflow
Design Shopify emails with Claude, then make them yours.
A practical brief, a scoped connection, and a reviewable first draft.

Start with one theme copy
Open Shopemail, choose a design from the theme library, and create your own copy. Give it a useful name, such as “Autumn refresh”. This copy is the boundary of the Claude connection: it does not give Claude access to every theme in your account.
Prepare your brand colors, tone of voice, and the notification types you want to improve. Begin with order confirmation and shipping confirmation before expanding across all 44 emails.
Connect your account
In Shopemail, open your account menu → Connections. Copy the MCP server address. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. Enter the server address and continue to Authentication. Choose Sign in now, then under OAuth client choose Use your own OAuth client. Enter the client ID shown by Shopemail and leave the client secret empty. Organization accounts may require an owner to add the connector first.
Follow the sign-in screen, choose your theme, and review the requested permissions. Read-only access is useful for an audit. Checked editing lets Claude change supported copy, brand styles, blocks and rules. A localhost development address is not reachable from Claude’s cloud service; use a deployed HTTPS endpoint.

Ask Claude to inspect supported fields first, explain the changes, and validate a batch before applying it. Include the audience, voice, and details that must stay accurate.
Work only on my authorized Shopemail theme.
Read the email list and edit schema first.
Refresh order confirmation and shipping confirmation:
- Warm, concise language for a homeware brand.
- Accent #99503D; keep body copy easy to read.
- Preserve order totals, addresses, tracking and Liquid variables.
Describe your plan. Dry-run the supported edits, resolve findings,
then apply one batch. If the workspace changes, read it again.
Finish with the email keys changed and what I should review.Review the rendered result
A checked operation validates the document change. It is not proof of how every inbox will render it. Return to the editor, inspect the affected emails at desktop and mobile widths, and try sample data for long names, multiple items and missing optional values.
Shared Brand changes affect the whole theme. Review a few emails from different notification families, not just the first email Claude edits. Changes appear in Change history and can be undone in Shopemail.
Export when you are ready
Use Review to check brand details, image hosting and essential-content warnings, then download the Liquid templates and included image files. Shopemail’s MCP tools edit drafts; they do not send email or install notification templates in Shopify.
Upload your images to the chosen public host, configure the image URLs, and install each reviewed template through Shopify’s notification editor. Send test notifications from Shopify before replacing your live templates.
